How to Order

If you are interested in purchasing a piece form our products section please get in touch via the contact form. Once you are happy with the delivery and price we will send an invoice. If you would like some Bespoke work done please contact us via the contact form and we will respond as soon as we can to organise either a site visit or we may be able to give you an estimate to help you decide whether you want to proceed.

Delivery

Delivery for smaller items will be posted via courier. Larger items such as tables and furniture will be hand delivered by our team. When purchasing a piece from us please get in touch so we can provide a quote for cost of delivery.

Lead Times

The usual lead times for products for sale on the site is 4 weeks. We will confirm a delivery date once the order has been received. Bespoke orders will often take longer depending on the scale of work.

What Finish do you use?

As standard our internal oiled work will be finished with Osmo interior hard wax oil. Painted work will be finished with Tikkurila Akvi. Other finishes can be used as requested.

Exterior work is finished with Osmo exterior/Sikkens Cetol system. Exterior painted work will be finished with Tikkurila Water based exterior paint.

Is fitting included

For smaller pieces of furniture (mirrors, tables etc) on delivery we will install the piece at no extra cost. Larger pieces of furniture or joinery will have a fitting price added on. We will give you the entire cost of the job including fitting and delivery before you proceed with ordering the work.

Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Joel Mclachlan, trading as Moon’s Lane Joinery (“the Joiner”, “I”, “me”, “my”, “we”), a sole trader operating in the United Kingdom. By commissioning any work, the client (“you”, “your”) agrees to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services
We provide bespoke joinery services, including but not limited to Made to measure wardrobes, alcove units, furniture, door and window manufacture and fitting. All services will be carried out with reasonable care, skill, and in accordance with industry standards.


3. Quotations and Estimates

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

  • Quotations are based on the information provided at the time and may be subject to revision if your requirements change.

  • Any changes to the agreed work may result in additional costs, which will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

    4. Deposits and Payment

  • A deposit of 40% is required to secure a booking.

  • For supply only: Final Payment must be made in full prior to collection or delivery

  • For Supply and fit: A payment of 40% of the total value must be paid prior to fitting. A final payment of 20% must be paid upon completion of intallation.

  • Payments can be made via Bacs, cheque or cash.

  • Late payments may incur interest at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

    5. Cancellation and Rescheduling

  • You have the right to cancel the work at any time.

  • In the event of a cancellation after materials have been purchased you will not be refunded your deposit and will be charged any reasonable additional cost if the cost incurred by me is greater than the amount paid in the deposit such as time worked on manufacture, drawings, time quoting, research, material samples.

  • If the work is cancelled prior to materials being ordered you will be refunded the deposit less any reasonable costs incurred by me including but not limited to, Drawings, time quoting, research, samples.

  • I reserve the right to reschedule appointments in the event of illness, adverse weather, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, I will provide as much notice as possible.

  • If an installation is booked but the payment details as stated above have not been me I reserve the right to reschedule and charge any reasonable costs incurred such as but not limited to sub contractors who I've booked.


6. Materials and Workmanship

  • Materials will be sourced from reputable suppliers. If you supply your own materials, we cannot guarantee their quality or suitability.

  • Please note that wood and wood products are natural materials and are subject to seasonal movement. This means they may expand or contract depending on environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. This natural movement is not considered a defect.

  • All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, covering defects due to poor craftsmanship. This does not cover general wear and tear, natural movement of materials, misuse, or damage caused by others.

  • Any snagging issues must be reported within 7 days of completion of the work. I reserve the right to inspect any reported issues and to determine whether they fall within the scope of the original agreed work and are covered by the workmanship guarantee.

  • Workmanship of other contractors/sub contractors employed by you the customer in the event of supply only will not be covered by the workmanship guarantee.

7. Access and Health & Safety

  • You must ensure clear and safe access to the worksite and work area. Delays due to restricted or dangerous access may incur additional costs.

  • I will comply with all relevant health and safety regulations while on site.


8. Liability

  • I hold public liability insurance up to £1,000,000.

  • I will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

  • My liability in respect of any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid for the services.
